I lost another toof!

Posted in Uncategorized | 13 Comments »

Well, sure enough…Another one of Ivy’s friends was over yesterday, and apparently all boys like to spin really fast because this boy was doing the same thing her friend Simon did. And, of course, Ivy placed herself directly in the path of the whirling dervish.

And…POP….out came the other front tooth!

This one bled a lot more than the last one, probably because of above mentioned dervish.

Here is the story of how it all went down.

I lost a toof!

Well, Ivy is growing more and more every day. Since she is a high achiever in all arenas of her life, teething included, when she was a baby she started teething at 2 months old. She has continued this advanced teething trend on into her mid-6’s. What I mean by that is that she has already lost 5 of her baby teeth and is moving on to permanent adult teeth.

And most recently, she lost one of her top teeth. Ta daaaa!

This photo was taken in the immediate aftermath of the tooth loss. You can see the apprehensive excitement on her face. I’ve noticed that since she has a huge gap her other front tooth looks really big and clunky. Not at all like the graceful front tooth I had come to know and love in the last few years. Most likely that one will be gone soon as well because it is very loose.

Ivy has a propensity for placing herself in front of moving people and objects. Almost all her teeth have been further loosened by getting hit in the mouth accidentally. I am not sure why this seems to happen to her so frequently, but it does.

Just this morning their friends Simon and Rachel came over to play, and Ivy placed herself squarely in the path of Simon’s whirling self. Blammo! Right in the toof. So no doubt another tooth fairy post is looming in the near future.

An Actual Update. What?? Yes. Update.

It has been a very long time since I have updated this blog! The last time was when Ivy turned 5…now she is 6 and a half. And Rose has yet to even make an appearance on this blog!

So, here are some updates….

Ivy is now a very mature 6 and a half year old, and says things like, “Be careful, its fragile.” and “Mom, come quick, Violet did ______!” She will be starting the Nevada Ballet Theater Academy in a couple of months. She starts second grade in the fall. I cannot believe I have a 2nd grader on my hands.

I like to think of this dress as her Cathy Selden outfit.

Look at that beautiful ballerina foot!

Violet is 4 and a half and randomly says things like, “Spank the butt!” and “Let’s cut something!” I think that last one is Violet in a nutshell. She is starting Kinder in the Fall.

Here she is modeling a princess dress I made recently.

Rose is a teeny tiny 21 month old child who still fits in 12 month clothes, and who has a great sense of humor. She says things in Spanish like “Ma” (mas = more), “Abee” (abri = open), and “ta-te” (sentate = sit down). She also likes to say “go” and “no”. She can sing “pharoah, pharoah, ooooh baby let my people go, uh! yeah yeah yeah yeah…” but really only sings “oooh baby” and “go, uh! yeah yeah yeah yeah”! She is a funny little monkey.
