Happy Thanksgiving!

Its been a great Thanksgiving Day here in Springfield! The day went very quickly, we started our day with a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, which Sara made for us. As the girls watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade, we got started with the preparations for our day. Phillip and Sara got the turkey and the rest of the food started, while I was on partial baby duty (they didn’t require much) and cleaning duty. By 1pm the house was clean, and most of the food was on its way to deliciousness. We all took turns getting ready for our guests, who were due at 3pm. You would not believe how organized everything was! There was a lot of teamwork happening, and everything went quite smoothly. I have posted pictures of our day in the photo album, so just click on the picture to see them:

John’s parent’s were here, and soon afterwards Father Orthell arrived. John’s grandparents and their son and his girlfriend arrived a bit late, as did John’s uncle. It all worked out though because we ate in “shifts” and so it wasn’t too crowded around the table.

We had some nice conversations, and it was really nice to have a priest here. We were able to turn in the vestments to him. We gave him the purple and the white vestments. They looked amazing, and we will probably get some pictures of Father wearing them this Sunday after Mass.

After dinner John’s uncle played the guitar while John played the violin and Ivy danced around. It was such a warm moment, which you will see in the video below.
